Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM

• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request with overtime after 52 hours)

• 13-week contract length with start dates of 12/15 or 12/29

• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 patients during days (1:6 rarely)

• Weekend requirement of three weekends out of every six-week schedule

• Holiday requirement of every other holiday

• Float requirement within skillset to Deaconess Midtown (8 miles) and potentially Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles) with 2-hour notice

• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS

• Minimum 2 years of strong Tele/Med/Surg experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required

• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class

• Must pass telemetry tests and demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills

• Required skills include NIHSS/dysphagia screening, strong neuro assessment, tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, initiate/titrate drips (insulin, cardiac, heparin), and heart cath recovery

• Preferred skills include NG/PEG tubes, PIV insertion, Tikosyn dosing, and chest tube management

• Care for complex Med/Surg/Tele patients including post cardiac caths, CVA/TIA, ICD patients, complex abdominal surgeries, oncology, and craniotomies POD 2

• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos

• Teaching hospital environment that may require precepting of students and new hires

• Strict attendance policy with 3 call-ins resulting in potential termination
