What You’ll Do
As a Clinical Therapist, you will provide high-quality clinical care, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to support children and families. Your responsibilities include:
Delivering evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy, including a minimum of two weekly EDT treatment groups
Coordinating psychiatric, psychological, and other specialized assessments to inform effective treatment planning
Participating in diagnostic and discharge conferences, provider meetings, and cross-agency collaboration to ensure coordinated care
Collaborating with schools, DCF, courts, and community resources to advocate for children and families
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation, including admissions, discharges, progress reports, and Individualized Service Plans (ISPs)
Developing and updating ISPs with clients to provide personalized, effective care
Fostering a trauma-informed, culturally competent approach across the treatment team
Creating therapeutic recreation and enrichment activities that support youth development and engagement
Developing and documenting crisis, discharge, and aftercare plans to ensure safe and seamless transitions
Supporting the care, welfare, and safety of children by proactively identifying and addressing potential risks
Assisting milieu staff in behavior management as needed
Upholding professional boundaries and agency policies while modeling ethical and culturally competent care
What We’re Looking For
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), or a related field (MA or MS in Social Services)
Minimum of one year of relevant experience, with training in child psychopathology and developmental psychology
Working knowledge of DSM-V and the ability to engage clients therapeutically in individual, family, and group modalities
Ability to obtain clinical licensure (LMFT, LMFTA, LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPCA) in the State of Connecticut
Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally competent care and ethical practice
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform light to moderate lifting as needed
