Independently or as a lead worker research & analyze complex information to resolve errors, modify data, &/or determine appropriate action within assigned area:
Monitor & ensure compliance with the Ohio Revised Code (ORC), Ohio Administrative Code (OAC), federal regulations, & Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) policies;
Audit & process financial transactions including vender payments, payroll, travel, refunds, etc.; Serve as liaison with Ohio Shared Services to troubleshoot any financial issues, questions, & communications; Analyze & resolve errors & out of balance conditions; Audit accounts to ensure sufficient funds have been encumbered or debited;
Maintain fiscal controls & ensure accurate distribution & reconciliation of revenue & expenditures;
Gather data & assist in the preparation of federal reports; Coordinate & prepare cash draw-downs;
Utilize various financial systems & software (e.g., Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS), Business Intelligence (BI), Excel, federal grant systems, BASS, etc.) to analyze, & maintain routine & specialized reports;
Provide training & work direction to financial analysts regarding functions in assigned area;
Assist in updating fiscal policy &/or make recommendations for appropriate changes;
Assist with the preparation of data (e.g., personnel service expenditures, overtime utilization, maintenance & equipment requirements);
Reconcile data across multiple platforms including grant management systems, banking portals, internal databases, etc.;
Support agency specific system testing & enhancements to comply with ORC changes &/or to improve fiscal efficiency & accuracy;
Prepare financial reports & reimbursements internal & external stakeholders, including state &/or federal agencies;
Utilize Ohio Administrative Knowledge System (OAKS) to enter & update accounts accordingly;
Perform debt collection process by determining late payments & sending notices, creating payment schedules & certifying unpaid invoices to Attorney General's Office;
Represent section & attend meetings with internal business units, other state agencies, vendors, banks, or other internal/external customers;
Assist other fiscal staff & management with routine &/or special projects & training;
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information & ensure compliance with all applicable standards;
Initiate &/or respond to external customers & internal staff members via telephone, email, &/or written correspondence;
Prepare & maintain training manuals & procedures;
Perform other related duties as assigned.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
