Job Summary: The Epic Systems Analyst (Beaker) has foundational laboratory knowledge and experience. This role is responsible for configuring, rolling out, and supporting the assigned Beaker Epic application(s). Responsibilities include business/systems analysis, requirements definition and documentation, system design, and problem resolution. The analyst communicates with system end-users to understand issues and implement solutions, consistently demonstrating and promoting the AHN Core Behaviors.

Essential Responsibilities:

Epic Beaker System Management: Plans, designs/builds, tests, implements, and supports the needs of Beaker Epic software. Analyzes and determines system requirements and specifications, performing and documenting workflow analysis while evaluating user experience. Supports and maintains environments or applications using domain knowledge.

Configuration & Optimization: Works towards building higher-level skills and interoperability knowledge. Consistently gathers and analyzes information, designs and tests solutions to problems, and formulates plans. Corrects issues, conducts routine maintenance, updates systems with new functionality to meet end-user needs, and implements new technologies.

Problem Resolution & Support: Ability to identify some issue resolution within support work with little or no assistance or direction from direct supervisor.

Project Contribution & Management: Consistently contributes to and manages small to medium task sets within the assigned area of a project.

Collaboration: Works with several clinical, business and technical resources, and does so in a positive, supportive and collaborative manner.

Technical Analysis & Documentation: Contributes to workflow analysis, data collection, report details, or other technical configurations to understand application functionality and what is needed from a customer perspective. Creates and maintains documentation and training materials regarding the implementation of applications.

Experience:

Required: 3 years of systems administration experience within one or more Epic modules.

Preferred: 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry.

Skills:

Possesses and consistently applies a broad and in-depth knowledge of the concepts, principles, practices, and processes of the specific field or discipline.

Possesses significant expertise to complete complex assignments and ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems.

Ability to handle analysis, design, system configuration, and testing tasks at basic to moderate levels of complexity.

Consistently solves a range of problems by analyzing possible solutions using standard processes. Solves complex problems often taking a new perspective using existing and innovative solutions.

Excellent customer service skills.

Uses critical thinking skills for assigned tasks.

Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that foster optimal teamwork.

Strong organizational skills in managing priorities.

Demonstrates knowledge of project management principles as they relate to assigned tasks.

Education:

Required: Associates

Substitutions: 2 years of relevant work experience in lieu of an Associate's Degree

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare or relevant experience.

Licenses or Certifications:

Required: Epic Application Certification within 6 months.

Preferred: Epic Beaker Certification/Accreditation

Pay Range Minimum: $57,700.00 Pay Range Maximum: $107,800.00 Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate's qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
