We are currently looking for a Lead Chef to work with our integral team at Whitchurch School, Cardiff CF14 2XJ

Hourly rate of £12.50 per hour – Yearly salary term time only £20,479

Full time – 37.5 hours per week – Monday – Friday. Term time only

39 working weeks out of the year!

What you'll be doing

Work well as part of a team of chefs, supporting one another and communicating well

Supervising and leading your team to success, leading by example.

Preparing and cooking dishes ready for lunch service

Following recipe cards to prepare, cook and serve a range of meals

Completing daily paperwork to cover due diligence

Assisting with deliveries and stock checks / placing orders

Placing food orders and maintaining kitchen records

To share responsibility with the Chef manager/Catering manager for the checking, probing and signing of all food deliveries

To monitor and record temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets and serveries.

Assisting in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans

Full knowledge of all menu items served

Undertake relevant training as required

Experience

Previous experience as a cook / chef of at least 2 years

Allergen awareness

DBS check required

Excellent team player and communicator

Confident enough to lead a team

Flexibility and the ability to innovate
