CVICU RN Job Details
Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
Start Date: January 5, 2026
End Date: April 6, 2026
Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Requirement: Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
On-Site Position
No On-Call Required
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940-$1990
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required)
Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac ICU or CVICU experience preferred
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
BLS and ACLS certifications (required for all travel nurse jobs)
NIHSS certification preferred
EPIC charting experience required
Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leader)
CVICU RN Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in the Cardiovascular ICU, including post-cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients
Monitor and manage patients with advanced cardiac devices (VADs, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Total Artificial Heart)
Perform IV starts, ventilator care, telemetry, Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring, and balloon pump management
Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
Assist with chest tube insertion/removal, arterial line management, and post-surgical care
Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy)
Float to other critical care units as needed
Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC
