Position Title: Catering Cook

Location: Schoenstatt Retreat Center, Lamar, TX (across the bridge from Rockport, TX)

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Catering Cook to join our kitchen team and assist in preparing meals for retreats, catered events, and conferences. This role is ideal for someone with experience in off-site catering or retreat-based food service, and a passion for working in a values-driven, peaceful environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Cook and assist in food preparation for catered events and guest services.

Prepare food ingredients, maintain kitchen organization, and assist during service.

Participate in setup and breakdown of dining and serving spaces.

Ensure proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices are followed.

Collaborate with team members to ensure meals are delivered on time and to standard.

Assist in inventory tracking and replenishment of kitchen supplies.

Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience in catering or event-focused food service.

Familiarity with health and safety regulations.

Comfortable with both solo tasks and collaborative cooking.

Positive attitude, especially during high-demand meal periods.

Reliable means of getting to and from work.
