Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stress Testing position requiring an active IL RN license and strong independent clinical skills.

Responsibilities

Work in the Cardiac Stress Testing unit of a hospital

Performs exercise and pharmacological stress testing, including Exercise Echocardiogram, Dobutamine Exercise Echocardiogram, and Nuclear Medicine Stress Tests

Typical caseload is 4-6 stress tests per day

Day shift schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30 to 16:00

RN works independently with support from a cardiologist on site or supervision by Hospitalist/ER MD for emergencies

Collaborates with nuclear medicine technician for medication administration

CPSI charting experience preferred

Responsibilities include conducting stress tests, interpreting results, providing discharge instructions, and following up with patients by phone

Works closely with the nuclear medicine tech for pharmaceutical stress tests

Position requires RTO to be submitted at application; scheduling restrictions apply around Christmas and New Year's holidays

Scrub or dress code details provided at assignment

First-time travelers will be considered

Requirements

Active IL RN license required for consideration

Current ACLS and BLS certifications required

Minimum of 2 years RN experience with at least 1 year in stress testing

Proficiency in 12 Lead EKG, exercise and pharmacological stress testing, and stress echocardiography

Experience with TEE, emergency medication administration, and peripheral IV starts

Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and monitor test results

Knowledge of treadmill and ergometry protocols

Demonstrated ability to work independently
