Risk Department – George Town, Grand Cayman
A leading financial services organisation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Risk Associate to join its Risk team in George Town. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), this role is central to strengthening the enterprise risk framework and supporting a culture of strong governance, accountability, and operational excellence.

About the Role:
The Senior Risk Associate plays a critical role in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks across the organisation. Responsibilities include administering the GRC system, maintaining the Risk Register and KRI suite, supporting internal audit interactions, and ensuring policies and procedures remain current. The SRA will also support the preparation of reporting for the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC), assist in risk-based testing, and contribute to training and internal awareness initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the CRO in implementing and enhancing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework.
Maintain and administer the Risk Register, including self-assessments, KRIs, and the control framework.
Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to map and implement effective controls for current and emerging risks.
Draft, update, and maintain policies and procedures for the Risk function.
Manage and monitor periodic reviews of organisational policies and procedures, ensuring timely completion and reporting to the ARC.
Prepare and analyse management information (MI) to monitor risk exposure, control effectiveness, and other key metrics.
Serve as a primary liaison between Internal Audit and business units, ensuring timely responses and tracking implementation of audit recommendations.
Promote a risk-aware culture through training, guidance, and integration of risk considerations in strategic initiatives and product approvals.
Support incident response, business continuity planning, and root-cause analysis.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks.
Provide expert risk-related advice to support sound decision-making across the organisation.
Build strong relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, auditors, and regulators.
Requirements
A university degree in business, finance, law, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., FRM, CRM, ICA, CFA, CAMS) are an advantage.
Candidates with substantial risk management experience in financial services may also be considered.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in risk management, compliance, or a related regulatory function within financial services.
Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, practices, and regulatory expectations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; able to interpret complex requirements and translate them into effective processes and controls.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
Highly organised with strong project management abilities; capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
