We are a growing outdoor power equipment dealership located in central Muskoka, and we’re looking to add a Shop Helper / Apprentice Mechanic to our team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has recently finished school and is eager to start a hands-on, long-term career in the mechanical trades.
You’ll begin as a shop helper, supporting day-to-day operations, and gradually transition into an apprentice small engine mechanic role as your skills develop.
If you have a positive attitude, are reliable, and have a genuine interest in learning the trade, we’re willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities Include: Assisting mechanics with repairs and maintenance of small engines and outdoor power equipment (e.g.
lawn mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, snow blowers) Performing general shop cleanup and organization Receiving, unpacking, and organizing parts and inventory Preparing equipment for service or delivery Basic troubleshooting and inspections under supervision Learning and following all safety procedures and shop protocols Skills & Qualifications: Basic mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in engines, tools, or equipment Strong willingness to learn and take direction Ability to use hand and power tools safely Basic computer skills (e.g.
looking up parts, entering data) Good organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Punctual, dependable, and physically capable of lifting 50 lbs Additional Assets (Not Required but a Bonus): Prior experience with small engines or tools Driver’s license High school shop or tech courses Customer service experience Wage: Starting at $18/hour, depending on experience and training required.
