We are looking for a Financial Director for E.ON's Energy Infrastructure Services (EIS) business in the UK. The position is based in Solihull, with travel to other E.ON offices.

Here's what you'll be doing

As Finance Director for E.ON’s Energy Infrastructure Services (EIS) business in the UK, you will take full ownership of the business unit’s financial agenda and act as a strategic partner to its leadership. In this pivotal role, you will shape and execute financial strategy, provide insight-driven guidance, ensure robust risk management and compliance, and play a key part in driving sustainable, long-term value creation across the organisation.

With the UK EIS business delivering an EBITDA of approximately £200m in 2024, you will be leading the financial stewardship of a high-impact unit that represents a significant contributor to the overall EIS segment reported to the capital markets.

You will join the Commercial Services Leadership Team and report directly to the CFO of the UK business, while also being an integral member of the Group EIS finance community with a functional reporting line to the CFO of the EIS Group. This is a highly visible, influential position at the heart of E.ON’s energy transition ambitions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the EIS UK Finance team- 5 direct reports and c.20 employees- building a high-performing organisation with strong succession planning.

• Serve as a strategic partner to the COO, Executive Team and wider business, shaping behaviours that strengthen execution and elevate performance.

• Develop and implement financial strategies that support growth, profitability and alignment with capital-market commitments.

• Optimise performance through a rigorous performance dialogue process, transparent KPI measurement and proactive issue escalation.

• Lead the Mid-Term Planning process, shaping business strategy and converting forecasts into operational KPIs that steer the organisation.

• Lead growth projects and provide challenge, insight and direction to the Future EIS Transformation programme, ensuring effective stakeholder management.

• Drive commercial optimisation across projects and support decision-making through investment approval processes.

• Champion efficiency, digitisation and process optimisation to ensure Finance leads by example and accelerates change.

• Serve as Non-Executive Director for several companies, including Lighting for Staffordshire.

What we need from you

Proven experience influencing at a senior level and leading/driving business change across a large organisation

Broad financial management background covering reporting, planning and performance management

Strong commercial acumen and advanced analytical skills

Excellent interpersonal and leadership capabilities, with the ability to build trust at all levels

An innovative approach, driving imaginative solutions to problems and capable of challenging conventional business thinking

Demonstrable ability to coach, motivate and develop high-performing teams

Strategic thinker with a track record of translating financial insight into clear business direction
