Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to support the accounting and financial operations of multiple operating and holding companies within our portfolio. This role is well-suited for someone with a strong foundation in accounting who is eager to expand their knowledge in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare and complete monthly bank reconciliations across multiple entities.
· Assist with year-end procedures, working papers, and coordination with external accountants.
· Prepare or assist with HST filings and ensure compliance with filing deadlines.
· Perform general ledger account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
· Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including posting transactions and reconciling balances.
· Assist with intercompany reconciliations and journal entries.
· Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
· Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for accounting records.
· Support the accounting team with administrative duties related to audits, compliance, and other special projects.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience (multi-entity experience is an asset).
· Solid understanding of accounting principles
· Proficiency with accounting software (experience with Sage, QuickBooks, or similar systems is an asset).
· Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
· Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
