ICU RN Job Details

Location: Albemarle, North Carolina 28001

Healthcare Setting: Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Assignment Type: Travel Nursing

Start Date: October 20, 2025

End Date: January 17, 2026

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend

Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays required

Scrub Color: Navy (white or navy undershirt; no T-shirts or Crocs)

Parking: Free onsite parking

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570 - $1680 per week

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)

Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications

Minimum 18 months to 2 years of recent ICU RN experience

Proficiency in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, ART lines, CVPs, critical care drips, chest tubes, PIV starts, TNK administration, ventilator management, trach care, NGT placement, drain/tube management, PCA pumps, wound care, and 12-lead EKGs

Ability to float within the region (Med/Tele, ICU, PCU, ED holds, Behavioral Health for med pass/charting)

EPIC EMR experience preferred

Strong communication skills and openness to constructive feedback

ICU RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate care to ICU and Med/Tele patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, COPD, CHF, MI, stroke, and respiratory illnesses

Manage patient assignments of 2-3 patients per shift, based on acuity

Perform NIH stroke assessments and participate in comprehensive stroke care

Administer and titrate critical care and cardiac drips, blood products, and medications

Monitor and interpret telemetry for the unit

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including house supervisors, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists

Float to other units or facilities within the region as needed, within scope of practice

Participate in orientation and adhere to all facility policies and procedures
