Anglicare is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our Supporting Recovery team. Based in Bowral, you will provide trauma-informed mental health care and wellbeing interventions to victim-survivors of family, domestic, and sexual violence (FDSV), supporting their longer-term recovery. This is a maximum term part-time position working 4 days a week. The contract ends in September 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver best-practice, trauma-informed psychological therapies and wellbeing interventions, including CBT, DBT, CPT, HOPE, EMDR, family and narrative therapies, somatic therapy, mindfulness, and other appropriate approaches.

Provide services that are welcoming, accessible, person-centred, culturally safe, and inclusive—embracing First Nations peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and those from CALD backgrounds.

Work collaboratively with internal and external partners, including Catholic Care, Local Care Teams, and community service providers.

Mentor and support new and less experienced staff, sharing learnings and participating in supervision and professional development.

Promote the program within the community and participate in partnerships with other mental health and alcohol and other drugs services.

Ensure quality, risk management, and compliance with the Supporting Recovery Model of Care and organisational standards

About You:

Tertiary qualification in psychology, counselling, social work, nursing, or a related field.

Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., ACA Level 2+, PACFA provisional, AHPRA, AASW mental health social worker accreditation).

Minimum 2 years’ experience working with clients experiencing mental health challenges and FDSV (mandatory).

Experience supporting clients from CALD backgrounds (desirable).

Current NSW Driver’s Licence, Police Check, and Working With Children Check.

Strong teamwork, relationship-building, resilience, and communication skills.

Commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement, and safe work practices.
