About the Role

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on role requires strong technical skills with industrial control systems, including Allen Bradley PLCs, and a thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code. The Industrial Electrician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting production efficiency, and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of plant equipment. Responsibilities:

Perform electrical maintenance and repairs to ensure uninterrupted plant operations

Troubleshoot and repair Allen Bradley PLCs and interpret ladder logic diagrams

Apply the National Electrical Code to all installations and maintenance tasks

Design, build, and modify control circuits for machinery and facility systems

Diagnose and repair relay logic, motor controls, and three-phase 480V power systems

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

Collaborate with maintenance teams to complete machine repair and support projects

Follow all safety procedures including lockout and tagout protocols

Work in varied environments including indoor and outdoor areas with exposure to heat, noise, and machinery

Use required PPE such as safety glasses, steel toe boots, and hearing protection

Document all maintenance work and adhere to ISO and plant procedures

Communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, and team members to complete projects

Qualifications:

State of Michigan Journeyman or Master Electrician License required

High school diploma or GED

Minimum five years of electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting

Completion of a registered electrician apprenticeship program with a minimum of four years or 8000 hours

Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and ladder logic troubleshooting

Strong knowledge of three-phase 480V systems, motor controls, and electrical schematics

Proficiency in diagnosing PLCs, electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics

Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and workplace safety requirements

Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physically demanding work

Capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Desired Qualifications:

Additional certifications or technical training in electrical or automation systems

Experience working under ISO standards and compliance requirements

Familiarity with gainsharing or performance-based incentive systems

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing facility

Comfort with extensive physical activity including climbing, crawling, and manual lifting
