Step into a pivotal role where you'll architect and deliver the career development programs that attract, nurture, and propel Transport's emerging talent.
You will identify business critical roles and succession planning for those roles in our business while providing support in developing those people who are either ready now, or in one, two or three years to move into these roles. As well you will be the strategic force behind our VET Cadet, Early Careers, and Graduate Programs – creating meaningful career experiences that transform capable graduates into tomorrow's transport leaders.
Your Strategic Impact
This role which thinks strategically about talent across the business, how do we identify and nurture it? You will work with leaders and leadership teams to make decisions around talent, to ensure that we mitigate people risks in the organisation and increase retention. This is talent strategy at scale. You'll design evidence-based programs that don't just fill positions – they build capability, drive engagement, and create career pathways that fuel Transport's future success.
Program Leadership & Innovation
Define clear career pathways that enable emerging talent to build skills and progress with confidence
Drive continuous enhancement of Grow Perform Succeed (GPS), aligning with organizational priorities and workforce needs
Apply research-driven, evidence-based practices to create programs with measurable, lasting impact
Lead end-to-end strategy, design, and delivery of VET Cadet, Early Careers, and Graduate Programs
Strategic Partnership & Collaboration
Partner with business leaders, SMEs, P&C, and L&D teams to co-design tailored capability-building initiatives
Act as trusted advisor to senior leadership on emerging talent strategy and workforce development
Foster cross-functional collaboration while navigating competing priorities
Impact Measurement & Insights
Provide strategic insights and reporting to senior leadership on outcomes and business impact
Drive data-informed continuous improvement across all talent initiatives
Culture & Capability Building
Lead and facilitate training, workshops, and coaching sessions across all Transport levels
Embed leadership behaviours that drive positive culture, accountability, and high performance
Equip emerging leaders to adapt and excel in evolving environments
Align talent programs with organizational change, workforce planning, and transformation initiatives
What You Bring
Strategic Expertise
Experience aligning talent strategy with organizational transformation and culture change
System thinking in a heavily matrixed org
Proven experience designing and delivering graduate programs, early careers initiatives, or talent development at scale
translating insights into strategic improvements
Leadership & Influence
Confident presenting insights and recommendations to executive leadership
Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across diverse functions
Strategic thinker who can balance innovation with practical, measurable outcomes
