A postdoctoral scholar position is available immediately in the Department of Extension and Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) at The Ohio State University (OSU). A multi-state project funded by USDA Sustainable Agricultural Systems, seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to assist our interdisciplinary team translate science to practice and create evidence-based Extension programming on regenerative agricultural practices for the Midwest Corn Belt. The main responsibilities are to 1) support the development, piloting, and dissemination of the decision support tool for farmers and policy makers; 2) bridge gaps between the project’s modeling and extension teams in development of an integrated model (soil health, water quality, policy and economics), conduct focus groups and help in extension education programs.
The postdoc will coordinate efforts with a collaborative team of researchers at partner academic institutions, engage stakeholder members (State and federal agencies, profit and non-profit organizations in Ohio) and will help organize/engage an advisory group and extension tasks. In addition to leading extension and modeling efforts, the postdoc will be expected to disseminate findings through peer-reviewed articles, extension publications and presentations at professional meetings. The postdoc will have the opportunity to develop new research ideas within the broader context of the project.
This is a term position subject to annual renewals based on availability of funding. The position will be located on the Columbus campus. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Asmita Murumkar, Assistant Professor -Ecosystem Services Field Specialist of Extension – Agricultural and Natural Resources and faculty at Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering at The Ohio State University.
