Job summary
The Demand Manager plays a key role in ensuring accurate forecasts and optimized inventory levels across all locations. In addition to managing day-to-day forecasting, the role leads initiatives to improve forecasting processes, analytical methods, and system solutions. The position also supports analysis and process development across the supply chain, with a strong focus on demand forecasting and planning efficiency.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, monitor, and adjust forecasts for each item and location to secure optimal service levels and minimize overstock or stockout situations.
Lead and coordinate development projects aimed at improving forecasting processes, analytical tools, and system functionality (e.g., GIM Syncron, Dynamics AX).
Support analysis and process development initiatives within the broader supply chain — focusing on areas where demand forecasting impacts purchasing, production, and distribution planning.
Execute and follow up on assortment changes within the system, ensuring smooth implementation and supply chain alignment.
Compile, analyze, and refine forecasting data in GIM and AX, focusing on:
Operational forecasting
Materials planning
Safety stock/seasonal profiles.
Act as Super User for the forecasting tool GIM Syncron, supporting users, maintaining data integrity, and promoting best practices.
Ensure all relevant KPIs are defined, tracked, and analyzed to support data-driven decision-making.
Collaborate closely with supply chain, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure accurate input data and effective coordination.
Develop tools and methods to simplify workflows, strengthen forecast quality, and support continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Operate both internally and externally to acquire the necessary understanding of the full supply chain and deliver optimal total solutions for the company and its customers.
Core Competencies and Requirements
University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
2–3+ years in supply chain planning, demand forecasting, or logistics operations.
Proven experience in process improvement, data analysis, or system development.
Skilled in forecasting tools (e.g., GIM Syncron) and ERP systems (e.g. Dynamics AX).
Experience leveraging AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics to enhance forecasting is a plus.
Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally and translate operational needs into practical system or process solutions.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Familiarity with AI-driven analytics, machine learning models, or predictive algorithms used in supply chain forecasting is an advantage.
