Westerwood is looking to fill the RN Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) position in Assisted Living. This is a full-time salaried/exempt position, scheduled Monday-Friday.
The ADON is a Registered Nurse with at least two (2) years’ experience in assisted living or long-term care. The ADON directly supervises nurses and nurse aides to include auditing documentation, overseeing job performance, counseling, and/or disciplinary action and is responsible for the coordination and supervision of resident care and communication with the members of the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure quality care delivery.
Essential Functions
Assure the quality of resident care, accuracy of records, proper handling of drugs, care of equipment, and become aware of such other resident or personnel needs, as they exist.
Assist in the establishing of an initial service and functional assessment plan for each resident assessing needs and goals. Responsibility for the continuity and periodic reassessment of resident care plans in coordination with the AL staff and AL Director.
Receive a brief report from staff nurses and review 24hr report every morning with follow-up for proper documentation and follow-through.
Attend the following meetings as needed: morning meetings, Utilization Review, Interdisciplinary Care meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings, and plan of care meetings.
Complete weekly skin rounds, documenting wound status and completing weekly skilled documentation.
Assist in orienting new staff including the skills checklists for RN’s and LPN’s and first aid training for the STNA’s.
Complete assessments and notify resident and/or family of change in level of care.
Incident Reports/Logs – review incident reports and complete any necessary follow-up with the staff and/or documentation
Qualifications
Registered Nurse currently registered in the State of Ohio.
At least two (2) years management and supervisory experience.
Geriatric/rehabilitation experience with a good understanding of State regulations and long term care.
Good knowledge of State regulations.
