Our client, an independent consultancy providing expert QHSE guidance to organisations worldwide is currently seeking a Senior HSEQ Advisor. Located in Aberdeen, the role is offered on a permanent (staff basis).

ROLE

Provide professional advice, guidance, assistance and support through all stages of the Client’s scope of work and to all related elements of the QHSE Management, i.e., suppliers of materials, goods and services with regard to the implementation of and adherence to the MS, ensuring that it meets all relevant ISO standards, QHSE policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide support, training and instruction to all client personnel in relevant areas of QHSE & Management.

Develop / enhance Management System content.

Develop and support implementation of QHSE Plans at all levels of the Client Organisation

Develop and support implementation of HSE Interface documents as required as assigned by client/contract.

Be aware of new or existing QHSE Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, guidance notes, and Government reports, and draw to the attention of the Operations & Technical Manager any implications for the end client(s)

Promote guidance, advice and understanding and compliance across clients with requirements to QHSE requirements for example in Radiation, COSHH, Manual Handling, PPE, DSE, Environmental, Waste Management and Health and Hygiene standards and objectives.

Implement and support corporate safety training policy as applicable to the needs and requirements of the Contract.

Monitor client work scopes as appropriate to ensure that Risk Assessments have been undertaken to the required standard.

Plan and ensure that audits/inspections, Non-conformance reporting, trend analysis and management review meetings are carried out correctly to establish that the client meets current legislative requirements, end client requirements and its own QHSE targets.

Plan, assist and participate in QHSE Audits of the MS and Subcontractors employed by the company and submit reports to Managing Director or their designate.

Support induction programme as required

Recommend and monitor the use, provision and effectiveness of safety equipment.

Prepare QHSE communication programmes as required.

Review incident and accident reports to ensure quality and that fundamental cause issues are both identified and linked to measures to prevent re-occurrence.

To have in place emergency response procedures that aligns and interfaces with those of company, client and subcontractors.

Member of Company emergency response team as required

Supporting the continual development of QHSE Advisors.

Develop & deliver QHSE related training to in-house and client staff

Willingness to travel as required to undertake work on behalf of the company and its clients

General QHSE & Information Security Duties

Comply with all controls and measures implemented by the organisation for the purposes of QHSE & Information Security management

Advise management of any potential areas of improvement to the IMS

Report any QHSE & Information Security concerns, incidents and/or nonconformities as soon as practical.

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge & Qualifications

Minimum Required: HNC Level Qualification, TECH IOSH Membership or equivalent, ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualified.

Desirable: Degree Qualified in relevant engineering / management subject, Teaching Qualification. NEBOSH General OH&S Certificate. Further Lead Auditor / Verifier Qualifications.

Experience

Minimum Required: At least 5 years’ relevant QHSE experience.

Desirable: At least 1 year QHSE experience with the company Experience gained in the engineering sector with some Oil & gas knowledge
