PRIMARY PURPOSE: To supervise the operation of multiple teams of examiners and technical staff for workers compensation. You will monitor workloads, provide training, and guide claims adjudication while maintaining a detailed diary on claims for your teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise multiple teams of examiners and/or technical staff, delegating duties as needed.

Identify and communicate trends, problems, and recommended actions to management.

Provide technical direction on claims adjudication.

Compile and analyze management reports to take appropriate actions.

Perform quality reviews of claims in compliance with standards.

Act as a second level of appeal for client and claimant issues, implementing final dispositions.

Review reserve amounts on high-cost claims and claims exceeding authority limits.

Monitor third-party claims and regularly review sensitive cases.

Maintain professional client relationships while keeping clients informed about claims status.

Ensure direct reports are properly licensed in the jurisdictions serviced.

Verify claims files are correctly coded and adequately documented by examiners.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other duties as assigned.

Support the organization's quality initiatives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administer company personnel policies and follow staffing standards.

Conduct interviews, hire talent, and establish performance development plans.

Provide leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Licensing: Bachelor's degree preferred. Licenses and professional certifications as required.

Experience: Six years of claims experience, including two years in a supervisory role.

Skills & Knowledge:

Thorough knowledge of claims management processes.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and PC literate.

Strong leadership and motivational skills.

Analytical abilities with good organizational and negotiation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively and meet performance goals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Consideration will be given to reasonable accommodations as applicable.

Mental: Strong judgment, problem-solving ability, handling work-related stress, and managing multiple priorities.

Physical: Computer keyboarding and travel as required.

Auditory/Visual: Hearing, vision, and verbal communication.

As stated, Sedgwick provides a compensation range of $75,671.00 - $95,000.00 for this role, depending on skills and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
