AGC Automotive Americas (AANA) is a leading supplier of automotive glazing for the OEM and aftermarket industries and is part of the AGC Group, the largest global glass supplier employing more than 50,000 worldwide in approximately 30 countries.
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, managing stock levels, and supporting production by ensuring materials and components are available and properly controlled within the plant. Minimizes inventory variance, supporting JIT manufacturing and maintaining lean inventory practices in the plant.
Responsibilities:
Assures that all responsibilities are carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, as well as company and customer requirements, policies, practices, and standards of conduct.
Ensures safety of self and others within the production area and is responsible for notifying supervisor or safety team of all safety concern while adhering to al company policies and procedures
Supports all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability Initiatives.
Evaluates & continuously improves manufacturing processes; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from production associates.
Capability to use trouble shooting skills to evaluate and find solutions to equipment issues as they arise.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Keeps equipment operational by working with maintenance and other services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special services.
Assists with training associates on how to operate production equipment and prepares work instructions on equipment options as required.
Capability to use trouble shooting skills to evaluate and find solutions to equipment issues as they arise.
Lead and or participate in problem-solving activities regarding quality, maintenance, or process concerns.
Coordinate resources to provide process support and maintenance support.
Help to facilitate development of other engineers, coordinators, and maintenance through training activities.
Update and develop Process Flow and PFMEA plans.
Perform roles and responsibilities of a Project Engineer
Develop cost estimates.
Analyze project risks by working with project teams to develop suitable contingency plans for tasks that would result in project failure if not properly executed
Review for and resolve safety concerns in project construction sites.
Prepare and present general project status updates.
Prepare and present department progress towards goals and KPI measurables.
Maintains 5S standards which include general cleaning, correct placement of tools, etc.
Actively participate in all activities within the production environment. Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
Five plus years of experience in an engineering function to include soldering experience
3 years of leadership experience
Extensive experience/knowledge in soldering processes, controls, tooling, and equipment for automotive glass.
Experience with 2-D & 3-D CAD systems (i.e.: Catia, Autocad, Solidworks).
Understanding of PLC programming (Allen Bradley and Omron preferred).
Vision System experience (Keyence, Cognex, etc.).
Worked with robotics (Fanuc & Yaskawa).
Injection molding experience is beneficial.
Knowledge of and ability to utilize problem-solving tools such as Kaizen Spiral, Six Sigma, Fishbone, 8D, etc.
Solid computer skills including use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong process knowledge and skills
Strong analytical and project management skills.
Ability to develop and present solid solutions to team members and management.
Ability to travel as required.
Must be able to read and understand written instructions/spec sheet.
