DevOps Engineer
Location: London (3 days onsite)
Type: Permanent
Salary: £65k - £70k (possibly higher for the right candidate)
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, install, and configure .NET and other web applications.
Manage SQL Server databases, permissions, backups, and script deployments.
Perform structured releases across DEV, TEST, and PRD environments.
Configure and manage virtualized servers (e.g., VMWare) with performance tuning.
Install and support packaged applications such as BizTalk, Dynamics CRM, and Pega.
Maintain deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting documentation.
Monitor systems, logs, backups, and server resources; ensure availability and integrity.
Administer Active Directory: users, groups, and service accounts.
Assist with disaster recovery planning, testing, and out-of-hours deployments.
Identify automation opportunities in deployments, maintenance, and environment refreshes.
Collaborate with engineering, QA, and platform teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines.
Develop CI/CD policies, standards, and training materials.
Essential Skills & Experience
Application deployment/configuration experience
Background in development, testing, or support
Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills
Build and deployment pipeline creation and maintenance
Automation experience
Windows Server, SQL Server Management Studio
IIS and Apache Tomcat
Virtualization (VMWare)
Package management (CloudSmith, Artifactory)
Containers: Minikube, Docker, Kubernetes
CI/CD with SAST/SCA
DevOps tools: Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, AWS CI/CD, TeamCity, OctopusDeploy
