Position: Junior Varsity Baseball Coach
Location: Monroe High School
Reports To: Head Varsity Baseball Coach / Athletic Director / Building Principal
Position Summary
Monroe High School is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Junior Varsity Baseball Coach to support the growth and development of student-athletes within our baseball program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong instructional skills, uphold MHSAA regulations, and foster positive sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic responsibility. This role works collaboratively with the Head Varsity Coach to ensure program alignment and athlete development.
Qualifications
Prior baseball coaching or playing experience at the high school level or higher is preferred.
Ability to teach and develop baseball fundamentals, skills, and game strategies appropriate to the JV level.
Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and support student-athletes.
Commitment to promoting teamwork, discipline, and good sportsmanship.
Willingness to collaborate with the Head Varsity Coach to ensure continuity within the overall baseball program.
Ability to enforce all MHSAA rules, district policies, and team expectations.
Dedication to supporting academic success for all student-athletes. Responsibilities
Coach and manage the Junior Varsity Baseball team in alignment with the program's philosophy and goals.
Plan and conduct effective practices focusing on skill development, fundamentals, and game readiness.
Teach proper techniques and strategies to prepare athletes for progression to the varsity level.
Supervise and mentor student-athletes, promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
Assist the Head Varsity Coach in coordinating program needs, communication, and overall player development.
Model professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship on and off the field.
Communicate regularly with players, families, and the athletic department.
Ensure compliance with all MHSAA, district, and league rules and regulations. Additional Information
This is a seasonal stipend position in accordance with the Monroe Public Schools coaches' contract.
All candidates must meet MHSAA coaching requirements and complete any required certifications or training before the start of the season. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
