MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND SCHOOL SERVICES

1 Safety and School Services Specialist

RANGE OF PAY: $37,128 - $41,405 (12 months/260 Days)

(While in effect, additional compensation from the Millage initiative will be awarded annually. For the 2025-26 school year, the amount for this position is $8,128 and will be prorated from July 1, 2025.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

(1) High School Diploma or equivalent.

(2) Three (3) years' secretarial or administrative assistant experience.

(3) Proficiency in computer applications and office equipment.

(4) Knowledge of bookkeeping and office procedures preferred.

(5) Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

(6) Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* (1) Provide administrative support to the Safety Specialist, Chief of Police, and the Director of Middle Schools & School Services.

* (2) Schedule meetings, maintain calendars, and coordinate logistics for departmental activities.

* (3) Perform financial duties required by the activities and functions of the department/division including preparing payroll, maintaining inventory, purchasing equipment and supplies, initiating and processing requisitions, assisting in preparation and maintenance of budget, and other assigned

projects for school and safety services.

* (4) Serve as a liaison between schools and district departments for operational needs.

* (5) Assist with coordination of School Health Advisory Council meetings (SHAC).

* (6) Prepare correspondence, reports, manuals, and presentations as needed.

* (7) Collect and compile relevant data for audits, meetings, and reports.

* (8) Maintain organized filing systems for safety, volunteer, and school services documentation.

* (9) Coordinate driver education program and process payroll.

*(10) Coordinate CPR classes, order medical supplies and maintain inventory of AED's.

*(11) Assist with the implementation and monitoring of Jessica Lunsford Act compliance.

*(12) Support the processing and tracking of volunteer applications and background checks.

(13) Maintain accurate records of safety drills, training, and compliance documentation.

(14) Coordinate communication between schools and Safety Specialist regarding safety protocols.

(15) Participate in training to update and expand clerical, financial, office practice and interpersonal skills.

(16) Maintain harmonious working relationships with others.

(17) Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.

(18) Maintain confidentiality in all matters related to personnel, students, and district operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Light Work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
