High School Diploma / GED

Must have or be able to obtain a valid CDL license with proper endorsements

Prefer experience in driving a bus route

Experience managing people Duties and Responsibilities

Be responsible for planning routes that provide maximum safety and efficiency

Supervise all full and part-time drivers

Maintain all paperwork

Supervise shop staff

Oversee all preventative maintenance and repairs of the bus fleet

Oversee the purchasing of all parts, fluids, equipment, and other necessary items.

Recruiting, training, and hiring new drivers

Assist in organizing the bus driver school and cooperate with the driving instructor

Oversee all drug testing for new and current drivers and keep proper documentation on file

Communicate with principals, teachers, secretaries, and parents regarding bus routes, stops, and times

Make sure all drivers are properly trained and certified

Keep necessary documentation on file regarding inspections, drills, and bus training

Drive a bus route when necessary
