Med/Surg RN Job Details

Location: Altoona, PA 16601 (Central Pennsylvania nursing jobs)

Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date: December 8, 2025

End Date: March 8, 2026

Unit: T11 Med Surg

Shift: 12-hour shifts (Day and Night shifts available)

Hours per Week: 36

Employment Type: Travel RN position

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1880 - $2020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Pennsylvania nursing license preferred)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience

Current and valid BLS certification

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate care to adult patients on the Med/Surg unit

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment

Administer medications and perform prescribed treatments

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans

Educate patients and families about health conditions and post-discharge care

Maintain a safe, clean work environment in accordance with hospital policies
