Office of Fiscal & Monitoring Services

Monitoring Services Positions

The Office of Fiscal and Monitoring Services (OFMS) Monitoring Services Division is responsible for providing risk management services for OFMS and ODJFS. The division manages risk through subrecipient and contractor monitoring. The division provides training, technical assistance, audit liaison services, and resolution services. The division provides oversight for counties, workforce local areas, state agencies, and others. Additionally, the division manages the County Finance Information System (CFIS). Their services also include technical assistance and training for Ohio's counties. Our focus is on efficient and effective business operations, internal control, and compliance. What You’ll Do

Classification Title: Financial Analyst

Working Title: CFIS Help Desk Support

1. Strengthens county relationships through timely, friendly, and clearly written emails from the CFIS Help Desk.

2. Specific Duties include:

a. Send CFIS Alert communications to county and state CFIS users.

b. Add, maintain, and inactivate CFIS county and state users.

c. Troubleshoot CFIS error messages.

d. Generate Text documents from an EXCEL spreadsheet for the ODJFS Listserv.

e. Complete an annual state fiscal year CFIS fiscal user validation process.

f. Create a quarterly spreadsheet to track receipt of county reports.

g. Use MS Teams to save and update CFIS Help Desk documents.

h. Attend in-person training, bureau and departmental meetings at the Rhodes State Office tower or other locations in central Ohio.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Travel: Travel required, as needed. Must provide own transportation or, in order to operate a state vehicle, you, must have a valid drivers license.

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:

Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field;

AND

6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.

- Or -

30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.

- Or -

12 mos. exp. as Financial Associate, 66561.

- Or -

equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.

Pay Information

This position is in the State of Ohio’s OCSEA/AFSCME Pay Schedule, Pay Range 30. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $24.66 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
