This is a full-time hybrid role for a Registered Nurse at Franklin County Children Services.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children in need.
Your day-to-day tasks will include conducting health assessments, administering medications, providing medical treatments, coordinating with healthcare providers, and monitoring the well-being of children under your care.
Although this position is primarily based in Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area, there is flexibility for some remote work.
Key Responsibilities * 30% Reviews and processes consent for hospital treatment, admission, surgeries, and medications for children in Agency custody.
* 30% Conducts medical screenings for children of all ages to screen for and document illness, injury or other medical concerns for further assessment or treatment.
* 30% Visits client homes and foster homes to provide medical consultation, advice, and assessment of children; advises social workers and caregivers on medical matters in coordination with the medical team; monitors caregiver compliance with medical care and communicates accordingly with FCCS staff and medical teams.
* 5% Attends staff development training meetings and other unit/department meetings.
* 5% Performs other related duties as assigned * Bachelor of Science in Nursing and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license * Experience in pediatric or mental health nursing * Strong knowledge of child health and development * Ability to assess and respond to medical emergencies * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team * Experience working with children who have experienced trauma * CPR and first aid certification * Knowledge of child welfare laws and regulations * Strong organizational and time-management skills * Ability to work independently and make sound decisions * Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus 1st Shift, Mon - Fri 7am - 7pm Flexible Work Schedule
