Role Overview
We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Manager to lead our Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams. This role is critical in maintaining and enhancing our ISO 9001/14001-certified systems, ensuring product excellence, and driving continuous improvement across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily QA/QC operations including First Shot Approvals, inspections, and testing
Oversee the Quality Lab: equipment, inventory, and budget
Ensure compliance with internal manuals and third-party standards
Manage non-conformance reports and corrective actions
Approve Certificates of Compliance and validate raw materials
Conduct internal audits and support external certification processes
Collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and purchasing teams
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality, efficiency, and cost
Participate in daily production meetings and report on quality metrics
Maintain accurate data in Filemaker, Hydra MES, and other systems
Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or Equivalent
Bachelor of Science or Engineering considered an asset
Minimum 5 years in a quality role within plastic manufacturing preferred
ISO 9001/14001 experience required
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is an asset
Technical Skills:
Deep knowledge of injection molding, extrusion, and raw material blending
Proficiency in Filemaker, Hydra MES, and Microsoft Office
Strong audit, documentation, and compliance capabilities
IT systems familiarity including troubleshooting and database management

Organizational agility in a fast-paced environment
Clear and effective communication across all levels
Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence
Key Relationships
Daily collaboration with QA Inspectors, Plant Manager, and Production teams
Frequent interaction with certifying agencies and external auditors
Cross-functional engagement with Purchasing, Maintenance, and Process teams
Working Conditions
85% of time spent in the plant environment
Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and mechanical testing equipment including Instron tester, impact testers, mechanical tools, measuring tools, crane, saws and additional equipment
High sensory attention and occasional physical labour
Fast-paced, dynamic workflow with limited control over pace
️ Travel Requirements
5-10% travel across North America
Occasional visits to other IPEX facilities for audits, training, and support
