Clinical Lead, Northern Region Cardiac Network STEMI Group
Background
The Clinical Lead role for the STEMI Group of the Cardiology Network will advance clinical leadership, engagement and participation in agreed regional network developments and support the national Cardiac network priorities. This is an exciting time to support the next phase of network development in the region.
There has been a long-standing commitment to collaboration across district clinical and operational leaders to develop and support a range of Cardiac services and operational priorities. Work is now underway to review the 2-year network plan priorities and enabling structures to implement improved ways of working regionally that will further improve patient and service performance outcomes.
Role
The primary purpose of the role is to provide strong leadership and support of the regional Cardiology Network through a focus on integrating service delivery to improve Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) related care that is regionally equitable, high quality, sustainable, and whānau-centred.
In partnership with the Network Clinical Lead and Network Manager, this role will champion:
· Strong relationships and work alongside district clinical leads as a core member of the Regional Cardiac Network to improve outcomes for patients, whānau and the health system.
· Lead the ongoing development regional approaches to ACS care provision, service performance and outcomes monitoring across the patient journey.
· Effective liaison and leadership for regional ACS service issues referred from senior leaders.
· Embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi as fundamental to the mahi we provide, address inequities that are within our system, and deliver improved outcomes for the whānau and communities we serve including Māori, Pacific, Asian and other ethnic communities.
· Provide evidence based clinical advice and system thinking to support future planning.
More about you:
You are a medical specialist holding current vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a relevant specialty area of Emergency Medicine or Cardiology and a current Annual Practicing Certificate. Your previous roles provide significant knowledge, strategic and senior leadership experience across the cardiac services continuum and the wider health sector.
