We are seeking a skilled and professional Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team as a contractor on a flexible part-time schedule.
Position Summary
The Physician Assistant will play an integral role in delivering clinical care and supporting Crescendo’s mission of excellence in patient outcomes. This position is ideal for an experienced or PA who values flexibility, autonomy, and professional collaboration within a supportive consulting environment. This position is ideal for a new graduate who wants to grow strong clinical and documentation skills in a supportive, structured setting.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct focused medical disability examinations for veterans, including history review, physical assessment, and functional evaluation.
Review and interpret medical records and diagnostic results to build a clear understanding of each veteran’s medical background.
Provide objective, evidence-based medical opinions based on exam findings and record review.
Use the clinic’s case management/EHR system to organize your workload, document findings, and submit required reports and DBQs.
Document all findings clearly and accurately in accordance with VA guidelines and Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) requirements.
Comply with all VA training requirements, stay current on updates to the C&P program, and follow applicable statutes, regulations, and standards.
Participate in ongoing quality improvement and best practice initiatives.
Qualifications
Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license
Graduate of an accredited PA program
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining professional collaboration.
Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented.
Prior C&P, occupational health, disability evaluation, or similar experience is helpful but not required.
BLS certification (current or able to renew)
Empathetic, respectful approach when interacting with veterans.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation & Schedule
Pay Rate: $425–$500 per day (Contractor position).
Schedule: Approximately 1–3 days per week, 8–24 hours total per week.

Dr. K. Curtis, Au.D. "Crushed" 20 years in the United States Air Force. He held Chief Audiologist at multiple facilities including Ehrling Berquist Hospital in Omaha, NE, the 375th Medical Group at Scott, AFB IL, and the 31st Medical Group in Aviano, Italy, to name a few. He has also served in many related fields as the Commander of Surgical Services in Lakenheath, UK and Commander of Public Health and Bioenvironmental Engineering at Keesler, AFB, MS.
Dr. Curtis founded Crescendo Hearing specializing in ethical clinical, mobile and forensic audiology. In addition, he has served on the Board of Directors for Central Institute for the Deaf, the Advisory Board for Salus University, both Exec committees for American Academy of Audiology and Military Audiology Association. Finally, Dr. Curtis was in the inaugural class of the Jerger Future Leaders of Audiology Conference.
