Plumbing Estimator – Columbus, OH

We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Estimator to join our growing mechanical contracting team in Columbus, Ohio. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our projects are accurately scoped, competitively priced, and completed on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Review project plans, specifications, and addenda to prepare accurate plumbing cost estimates.

Quantify material, labor, and equipment needs using digital takeoff and estimating software.

Prepare detailed bids and proposals for commercial, industrial, and institutional plumbing projects.

Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors during the preconstruction and bid review process.

Participate in design-build and value engineering efforts to maximize efficiency and profitability.

Track historical cost data and assist in developing pricing databases and estimating standards.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3–5 years of plumbing estimating experience within a commercial or industrial environment.

Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and installation practices.

Proficient in Bluebeam, Trimble, or similar takeoff software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Familiar with building codes, OSHA regulations, and project documentation requirements.

Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates under tight deadlines.

Preferred

Experience in design-build or mechanical contracting environments.

Journeyman Plumbing License or technical training background.
