The Astor Learning Center (ALC) is hiring Special Education Teachers to join our supportive and collaborative team. We're searching for passionate, energetic individuals to join our team. The ALC is a therapeutic special education school for children facing educational, emotional, and behavioral challenges serving children in small class sizes with a maximum number of 80 children.
What You Will Need:
Initial/Permanent NYSED Special Education Teacher certification.
BA/MS Experience preferred.

Work with outside providers to enhance the student’s learning experience.

Astor Services is a community based, non-profit organization that provides children mental health services, child welfare services, and early childhood development programs. Astor serves children and families in New York State Mid-Hudson Valley region and the Bronx.
Through a wide variety of premier quality education and mental health services, Astor provides support for pre-schoolers, children with behavioral and emotional health problems, children at risk of placement in foster care, and families that need assistance in developing the skills necessary to raise their children in an environment filled with increasing challenges. Astor currently serves thousands of children each year through its prevention, early childhood, special education, community behavioral health and residential treatment programs.
We are committed to providing high quality treatment and child development services for youngsters and their families in the least restrictive setting and at the earliest possible point of intervention. In 1966, Astor opened its first outpatient mental health clinic in Rhinebeck. Today, the agency operates a wide range of community-based behavioral health treatment programs as well as early childhood development and parenting programs at multiple locations in the Hudson Valley and in the Bronx, New York.
Astor values a collaborative approach to service development and delivery. The services we provide today are the response to identified needs in the communities where they are located and are often delivered in partnership with other service providers such as schools, BOCES, day care providers, foster care agencies, shelters, etc. Astor is partnered with the Robin Hood Foundation, Department of Education, New York City Council, and Bronx Partners for Healthy Communities.
Full-time
