Jtec Industries, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL Driver with an active CDL A license, and a minimum of 1 year driving experience.

Summary/Objective

The Material Handler/Backup CDL Class A Driver transports stock or other materials with a class CDL truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 lbs. (GVW); to move stock and other materials between facilities, to customers and vendors as well unloads trucks and moves stock or other materials around the facility by hand or by operating a fork truck.

Duties and responsibilities

Move freight, stock or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors or other equipment

Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery

Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices or other transport vehicles

Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information and ensure all internal loads have proper paperwork

Sort materials before moving

Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order

Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure

Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chain, binders or covers

Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions

Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehicles

Perform routine maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries, fueling or replacing LP tank

Qualifications

Education/Experience

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

Requires commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A – must remain valid during employment

CDL Class A Medical Card, required – must remain valid during employment

Must be able to operate an automatic transmission

1-2 years forklift experience

Working conditions

Sounds, Noise – Job requires frequent exposure to noises that may be distracting or uncomfortable.

Indoors, Not Environmentally Controlled – Job requires working in a metal fabrication and warehouse environment without a cooling system.

Outdoors, Exposed to weather – Job requires frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

Physical requirements

Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, walking, stooping, and handling of materials

Must be able to lift and move 50 lb. parts or fixtures

Must be able to stoop, bend and reach overhead to assemble and/or move products.

Must be able to work in safety sensitive role, fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of drugs or alcohol, including prescribed or over the counter drugs or other substances which may alter job performance during working times (e.g., drowsiness, impaired reflexes or reaction time, lack of concentration, etc.)
