Technical Services Manager Salary: $135,000.00 + Bonus Annually
About the Job
We are currently seeking a Technical Services Manager to join our GFS Chemicals family at our McKinley Avenue campus in Columbus, Ohio. This position will be responsible for leading and managing the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant assets. The incumbent will oversee technical services, preventive maintenance programs, and continuous improvement initiatives to support production goals and regulatory compliance. The Technical Services Manager handles the high-level, day-to-day operations of the engineering and maintenance teams and guides the general strategy to improve overall business functions. Primary duties include managing staffing strategies, overseeing the maintenance and engineering departments and setting goals for their team based on the company’s strategic plans.
Responsibilities
Recruit, develop and retain team members to ensure talent needs are met; assess talent to understand and address team capability needs.
Effectively and efficiently lead staff of engineering and maintenance teams to reach optimum level performance; this includes:
Chief Engineer
Plant Engineers
Maintenance Manager
Automation Engineering Manager
Coordinate staff activities with the Organic, Inorganic and Analytical Divisions to develop, implement, and complete capital improvement projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Prepare and adhere to an annual budget for the Technical Services group.
Effectively engage and manage external support services to complete tasks when necessary.
Implement and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies using CMMS tools.
Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes for equipment and process modifications.
Collaborate with operations to improve process reliability and efficiency.
Maintain adherence to OSHA, PSM, and environmental regulations.
Oversee ISO compliance and ChemStewards requirements for maintenance and engineering activities.
Ensure staff understand and adhere to all applicable State and Federal laws and regulations and utilize those regulations as guiding principles in their day to day activities.
Manage departmental budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships.
Approve major purchases and coordinate contractor activities.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
7+ years of industrial maintenance and engineering experience, preferably in chemical industry.
3+ years of people management experience.
