Job Title: Tool and Die Engineer

Job Description

The Tool and Die Engineer will hold overall responsibility for managing all tooling and dies in the Stamping Department. This includes design, development, maintenance, repair, and utilization to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with company officials to plan business objectives and develop tooling strategies.

Coordinate the design and development of tooling.

Review tooling records to assess utilization and efficiency, ensuring goals and objectives are met.

Direct and coordinate programs to determine funding for new tooling to maximize return on investment and productivity.

Oversee the operations and activities of die maintenance associates, focusing on preventative maintenance and repair.

Execute duties in compliance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Stay current on saving opportunities and leverage applicable programs.

Ensure proper inventory control and purchasing processes are in place and functioning.

Assist in resolving customer and team issues.

Perform special projects as assigned.

Evaluate job performance of subordinates and identify improvement and promotional opportunities.

Mentor team members and maintain order and discipline among associates.

Adhere to company directives and perform other duties as required.

Essential Skills

Extensive experience in tool and die, die maintenance, stamping, tool design, tooling, die repair, and tool repair.

Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills for effective interaction with all organizational levels.

Experience in tool and die design and maintenance.

Proficient management and organizational skills.

Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.

Competence in interpreting various instructions including written, oral, diagrams, or schedule forms.

Strong skills in tooling design and development.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bi-lingual in Japanese and English (preferred).

Experience in cost analysis and negotiation of tool and die costs and purchases.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
