About the Role:

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to patients across all ages in Ohio. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care that encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, and the management of acute and chronic illnesses. The FNP collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety. Additionally, the role involves educating patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to empower them to make informed decisions. Ultimately, the FNP contributes to improving community health by delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in diverse clinical settings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current and unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license in the state of Ohio.

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner by a nationally recognized certifying body (e.g., ANCC or AANP).

Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or in a related advanced practice nursing role.

Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in Family Medicine or urgent care settings.

Additional certifications in pain management or palliative care.

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.

Strong skills in patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing, to identify health issues.

Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans for patients with acute, chronic, and complex health conditions.

Provide patient education on disease management, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and preventive health strategies.

Ensure patient safety by adhering to clinical guidelines, monitoring treatment responses, and promptly addressing complications.

Deliver urgent care services, including triage and stabilization of patients requiring immediate medical attention.

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.

Skills:

The required skills such as patient education, are integral to daily clinical practice, enabling the FNP to provide holistic and specialized care tailored to patient needs. Proficiency in family medicine enables the effective management of diverse health conditions commonly encountered in family practice.
