Job Summary:
Willowwood, a leading manufacturer of prosthetic medical devices, is looking for Controller at its headquarters in Mt. Sterling, Ohio. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will oversee all financial and accounting functions within the company. This includes managing accounting staff, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and developing and monitoring internal controls. The Controller will play a crucial role in budgeting, forecasting, monthly financial reporting and variance analysis required to support the company's annual operating goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee all financial operations including cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and general ledger
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
Prepare ad hoc financial analysis as needed
Lead year end financial audit; work closely with third party audit team
Support the CFO and FPA team with strategic planning
Internal Controls and Auditing:
Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets
Coordinate annual audits and ensure timely completion of audit processes
Insure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations
Treasury Management:
Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure the company's financial stability
Update weekly cash forecasts and analysis
Optimize cash management processes, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
Develop strategies for improving cash flow and managing financial risks
Review monthly bank reconciliations
Team Management:
Lead and develop the accounting team, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement
Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and mentorship
Compliance and Reporting:
Work with tax preparer to ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, estimates, extensions and regulatory reports
Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and ensure company compliance
Technology and Systems:
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems.
Ensure that all operational changes that impact accounting have proper processes designed and system configuration completed
Recommend system changes and upgrades to streamline and simplify financial processes
Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to improve financial processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA certification required
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a controller or similar leadership role
2+ years of experience must be in a manufacturing company
Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and other relevant accounting standards and regulations
Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management and audit participation
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members
Proficient in accounting software and financial management systems; experience with mid market ERP systems preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
