Due to growth, it has created a need for two R&D interns, one for food and one for beverage, at our corporate headquarters in McLean, VA. The job description and other important information is listed below.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The R&D Intern is responsible assisting with research projects, new formulations, and maintenance of existing products. This individual must operate independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, this individual must be flexible and adapt quickly to change and shifting priorities. This individual will also be responsible for:
Operating laboratory equipment properly and safely
Weighing and measuring with accuracy
Recording data
Preparing food products and evaluations by following written and oral direction
Ensuring correct and accurate sample preparation.
Developing a close functional relationship with the Research and Development team to review projects and contribute information/suggestions regarding product requirements
Participating in New Concept Development programs
Maintaining the laboratory, ingredients, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional manner

QUALIFICATIONS
Food science, chemistry, biology major - must be in junior or senior year of program or a recent grad
Internship is available at a 3-month interval, with the possibility of continuation.
