Job Summary
This is a Lean Six Sigma Utilityseeking a skilled Crew Leader specializing in the maintenance and repair of wastewater lift stations, equipment, and force mains. The role requires proactive work, excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, and a strong understanding of ethical behavior. The ideal candidate will demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a desire to find answers. This is an essential position that requires extended hours during and after hurricanes or other disasters. The incumbent will be "on call," must carry a cell phone for after-hours repairs, and work overtime as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain pumps, motors, generators, electrical motors, gauges, contacts, valves, and radio telemetry systems.
Study work reports and evaluate equipment and system efficiency.
Interpret force main maps and control panel diagrams to assess operations and identify improvements.
Make recommendations for improvements to the supervisor.
Be available on call for after-hours repairs and respond to emergencies as required.
Work extended hours during and after hurricanes or other disasters as part of essential operations.
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe work environment.
Demonstrate ethical behavior, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to problem-solving.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
College-level courses are desirable.
Experience
Two years of experience in mechanical repairs, operations, and maintenance of wastewater pumping facilities.
Must be able to interpret electrical and SCADA schematics.
Must be able to operate a computer using MS Office and GIS Mapping systems.
Asset Management knowledge is a plus.
As part of the interview process, an assessment of troubleshooting skills will be conducted in the field, along with an evaluation of computer skills.
License/Certification
Possess a Florida Wastewater Collection "C" Certificate and a Florida Class "C" CDL driver's license with tanker and air brake endorsements at the time of application.
Must obtain a Florida Wastewater Collection "B" Certificate and a Florida Class "B" CDL driver's license with tanker and air brake endorsements within six (6) months of hire.
Must complete all training programs, including confined space, hazardous materials handling, and other required safety courses.
Must be clean-shaven and/or groomed to adhere to OSHA standard guidelines to pass a pulmonary respiration test and properly wear a respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus.
Applicant must pass a pulmonary function medical test.

Ability to work at moderate heights, in confined spaces, and use a safety harness.
Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs. regularly) and occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
Must be capable of walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and grasping.
Must possess visual, auditory, and verbal abilities sufficient for safe and effective performance of duties.
Exposure to chemicals, fumes, dust, machinery hazards, and adverse outdoor weather conditions; noise level is moderate to high.
