UDeploy Infrastructure Engineer Sr.

100% REMOTE

Shift Times/Preferred Time Zone 9-5 EST core hours, would require on call/overnight coverage as needed (Only if RTB support cannot handle issue, may be reached out to but would be very rare). May be asked to joined CRs on Monday nights but wouldn't be every Monday

Length of Assignment 4 months, with possibility of conversion

Which project will this need be supporting? Needed for installation and upgrading of UDeploy

Candidate Technical and skills profile: UDeploy experience, installation, architecture, and upgrade experience with UDeploy

Key responsibilities:

More than just using Udeploy for deployments, need to have installation, architecture, lead experience with UDeploy.

Trying to fill gap of former employee who had 5+ years of UDeploy experience and was integral for installation and upgrading UDeploy.

Experience with Kubernetes and / or Openshift and Helm deploying application services

Experience with automation frameworks and tools like Ansible and Terraform

Experience with the Jenkins platform, provisioning, configuring, and using automation like Jenkins Configuration as Code (JCasC)

Experience programming and scripting (with languages like Golang, Python, Java/Groovy or Bash)

Expertise with Git and platforms such as Atlassian BitBucket / GitHub Enterprise / Azure DevOps Server

Experience with Continuous Integration & Delivery Best Practices

Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills

Self-motivated, willing to take initiative and able to apply new technologies when appropriate

Must have technical skills/experience (ask for alternative/tool/version):

MUST HAVE TECHNICAL SKILLS Required:

4+ Years of experience with IBM UrbanCode Deploy (uDeploy). Software upgrade experience with UDeploy.

Installation, configuration and overall administration, software engineering and support (UDeploy) - 5-7 Years required.

Experience with IBM license key center for the process of managing Udeploy licenses

Onboarding of consumers of the Udeploy application - 5-7 Years required

Coding experience (groovy, ansible, python etc..) - 5-7 Years required

Experience building and supporting Udeploy custom plugins (ex integration with ServiceNow) - 5-7 Years required

Familiarity in working with and using RHEL - 5-7 Years required

Flex / Nice to have:

1. Ansible scripting experience

Automating various engineering tasks, install, configure, upgrades, etc..

GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins experience

Knowledge of and experience with Blue/Green deployments

Knowledge of and experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)

Familiarity with java development, this is to support a java application that we have that wraps the UDClient

Kubernetes Certification a plus.

Jenkins: Certification a plus.

Years of experience: 5-7 Years required overall

Pre-Screening Questions:

1. Please describe any experience you have in a banking or large company environment in an end user support capacity (specifically for issues that are not resolved by the normal operation support team, ie when issues escalated to the engineering team for further triaging, remediation and potentially root cause analysis)?

2. Confirm that the candidate has performed some of the following specifically with the IBM Udeploy technology (install, configure, upgrade, remediate vulnerabilities, capacity planning, etc..). If the candidate has merely used the IBM Udeploy tool for their deployments - they might not be a good candidate.
