In this role, you'll:

Work as part of the Heritage team in the Environment and Sustainability Branch, delivering expert heritage advice and project support. Guide how heritage-listed places and assets are conserved and managed throughout the lifecycle of infrastructure and development projects. Provide specialist input on projects and works that may impact heritage assets, and help shape practical solutions that respect cultural and historical values. Work across large and heritage-rich Sydney Trains and statewide Roads portfolios on a range of projects.

This role will see you contribute to the development and implementation of practical and effective strategies, guidelines, Policies, procedures and works plans to identify, manage and resolve heritage matters and proactively mitigate heritage risks across projects, programs and operations. You will review plans, reports and assessments and provide specialist advice relating to works and programs that may impact heritage listed places and work collaboratively with owners and custodians of heritage and other subject matter experts to achieve positive and sustainable conservation outcomes.

This position is a temporary opportunity up to 12 months and is based at Macquarie Park with hybrid work arrangements.

About you

Your experience in heritage formed across roles in government or as a consultant will see you excel in in this role. Knowledge in built heritage or heritage engineering, in particular in a rail and/or infrastructure context, or in archaeology as well as the ability to read technical drawings and construction plans will be highly regarded. You are able to engage and negotiate with stakeholders through effective communication, to ensure stakeholders are engaged and deliverables are met. You are able to manage multiple competing priorities effectively and have excellent attention to detail that allows you to provide specialist advice in a high pressure deadline driven environment.
