People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

Monday to Friday
Start times vary depending on runs
Rates of Pay
Basic: £15.75 per hour
Overtime: £23.63 per hour
Night Out: £25.00

Day-to-Day Duties
• Operate Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations across the UK
• Carry out tramping as required
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured correctly
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations at all times
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Assist with loading and unloading of cargo when required
Essential Skills
• Valid UK Category CE licence
• Minimum of six month's experience driving CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements (no major endorsement codes)
• Valid UK CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
• Good spoken and written English
• Punctual with excellent time-keeping skills
• Strong understanding of road safety and traffic regulations
• Effective communication and customer service skills
Desirable Experience
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training Provided
• Driver’s assessment required before starting
• One-day paid induction following successful assessment
