RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in a 12-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

• **MUST HAVE LEVEL III NICU EXPERIENCE**

• Patient ratios: 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 based on acuity (Exchange transfusion requires 2:1)

• Work every other weekend

• Call required if low census

• Floating to Nursery & Pediatrics units

• Dark blue scrubs required

• Work with specialized NICU equipment: HFOV, SIMV, NIMV, CPAP, HFNC, monitors, Alaris pump for IV, Medfusion or Medela for gavage feeds, Medela milk warmers, phototherapy, isolettes & radiant warmers, blood warmer, blanket warmer, glucometer

• EMR systems: Meditech for orders/labs/medications/breastmilk and GE Centricity CPN for nursing charting

• Required to assist with intubations and handle ventilator/respiratory equipment independently

• Assist with procedural & surgical bedside skills including UAC/UVC/PICC line placement and surgical procedures

• IV insertion proficiency required

• Assist with ophthalmology examinations, chest tube insertions, lumbar punctures

• Phlebotomy skills and NG/NJ tube insertion and maintenance required

• Wound & ostomy care and knowledge of emergency cart with neonatal medications

• Ability to assist with exchange transfusions including setup and calculations

• Capable of attending high risk deliveries preferred

• Required certifications: NRP, BLS, and PALS

• Must be adaptable, team player, and gregarious personality
