Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with various shift times available: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, 9:00 AM-9:00 PM, 11:00 AM-11:00 PM, 3:00 PM-3:00 AM, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM

• Leadership will create schedule based on department needs

• Weekend and holiday requirements vary based on department needs

• Must float to OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once a week

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (NRP preferred)

• Driver's license required at submittal

• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% or higher to continue

• Artificial nails are prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination

• Must be located outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities

• Work in Level I Trauma Center with Pediatric Certification and Comprehensive Stroke Center designation

• Patient ratios: 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, 1:1 ICU/Trauma

• RNs must read and interpret their own telemetry strips

• Handle common diagnoses including trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and strokes

• Administer all common drips seen in Level I trauma ERs

• Work with 20 beds, 5 trauma bays, 10 observation beds, plus hallway beds

• Fast-paced, high acuity environment with 6-bed Fast Track and 3 triage beds

• One week onboarding, 2 shifts at Bergan, 1 shift at UC for orientation

• Chart in EPIC system

This healthcare facility operates as a Level I Trauma Center with Pediatric Certification and Comprehensive Stroke Center designation, providing comprehensive emergency services with advanced trauma capabilities. The facility features a 20-bed emergency department with 5 trauma bays, 10 observation beds, a 6-bed Fast Track unit, and 3 triage beds, supported by 24/7 in-house security. The emergency department maintains high standards with both physicians and mid-levels staffed around the clock, charge nurses on each shift, and dedicated support staff including nurse aids, EMTs, paramedics, and patient sitters.
