Job Description: *Assumes professional responsibility for providing comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling services for elementary school students *Provides counseling services; individual, group, classroom guidance, and family counseling, as well as crisis intervention services to students *Advocates for students who need additional services through outside agencies *Collaborates with school teams on behalf of students who are in need of counseling services *Maintains accurate records that document information concerning the type of services rendered to students and their families
Qualifications: *NJ Educational Services certification as School Counselor required *Master's or higher degree from a regionally accredited 4-year college/university required *Broad knowledge of testing and evaluation, theories of individual and group guidance techniques, and guidance conflict resolution *Counseling and teaching experience preferred *Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with students, parents, staff and community groups and organizations
Starting Salary: $64,000.
