This role focuses primarily on frontend engineering, where you will design and build scalable, accessible, and performant user experiences for both internal and customer-facing platforms. As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in driving technical excellence, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring solutions align with business goals.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. While exposure to full-stack development is a plus, the emphasis of this role is on frontend specialization and leadership within the UI layer.

Responsibilities:

Lead front-end development, ensuring scalable and performant implementations

Build and style interfaces using Material UI, Tailwind CSS, or similar component libraries in line with design specifications

Implement state management (e.g., Redux, Recoil, Zustand) to ensure scalability and maintainability

Integrate with APIs, with strong knowledge of REST, GraphQL, and WebSockets, and contribute to API testing and validation

Adopt and champion AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and share best practices across the team

Apply design patterns such as Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) where appropriate

Collaborate with product managers to refine requirements and ensure engineering alignment with business goals

Partner with engineers to confirm solutions meet product and technical requirements

Design, implement, and validate responsive and accessible user experiences in production

Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to ensure smooth deployments and monitoring in AWS (CloudFront/CDN) environments

Ensure frontend applications incorporate security best practices, including safe authentication flows and protection against common vulnerabilities such as XSS and CSRF

Implement and maintain frontend monitoring, logging, and error tracking to ensure reliable and seamless user experiences

Collaborate with DevOps/Cloud teams to instrument observability tools for frontend performance, availability, and error reporting

Ensure sufficient unit test coverage for frontend components and mentor junior engineers in adopting testing best practices

Contribute to Agile delivery processes by participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives

Mentor junior developers and enforce best practices in code structure, reusability, and accessibility

Participate in interviews and hiring to help grow the engineering team

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years of professional experience in front-end development with React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks

Strong experience with REST API consumption, error handling, and performance tuning

Experience integrating with modern APIs, including REST, GraphQL, and WebSockets

Proficiency in building responsive, accessible, and scalable UI designs

Hands-on experience with Material UI, Tailwind CSS, or other reusable component/CSS frameworks

Experience working with CDNs (e.g., AWS CloudFront) for application performance optimization

Experience deploying and monitoring applications on cloud platforms (AWS preferred)

Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and containerization

Proficiency in leveraging AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance productivity

Awareness of frontend security best practices (XSS, CSRF, authentication flows)

Strong experience in Agile development, including contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives to ensure high-quality delivery

Exposure to frontend monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Sentry, Datadog, New Relic) for tracking performance and errors

Understanding of key frontend performance metrics (e.g., page load times, Core Web Vitals, responsiveness) and ability to use observability data to improve user experience

Understanding of modern module bundlers (Webpack, Vite, Esbuild, Bun, etc.)

Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests, with the ability to guide less-experienced engineers in adopting testing best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with additional frontend frameworks (e.g., Next.js, Blazor) is a plus.

Ability to evaluate emerging frontend-focused AI tools and approaches, and advocate for their adoption to improve team productivity and maintain modern engineering practices.

Familiarity with media pipeline workflows, asset management, or digital distribution platforms

Knowledge of performance tuning tools (e.g., Lighthouse, React Profiler)

Exposure to full-stack development with .net Core is a nice-to-have

Media & entertainment industry experience is a plus

Soft Skills:

Strong collaboration skills; able to work effectively with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers

Ability to mentor and coach less-experienced engineers

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset

Clear communication and stakeholder alignment

Ownership and accountability for technical excellence and delivery
