Corporate Controller

We're seeking a Corporate Controller that will oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions. You will also manage the Bank's accounts payable and payroll systems. Financial reporting responsibilities include internal reporting to management and the Board as well as external reporting to both private shareholders and all regulatory and tax authorities. You will also maintain a strong system of internal controls over financial reporting.

In addition, you will support the CFO in working with the Treasury function to ensure accuracy of budgets and forecasts. You will leverage your experience in banking to complete the integration following our recent merger and support the business plan.

You take a strategic approach to business challenges, while being a hands-on manager capable of developing your team. You are a CPA with a minimum of 15 years of Bank experience.

How You Will Make An Impact:

Develop a team that works collaboratively across the company to streamline processes and implement systems to scale the business

Oversee and execute the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Accounting standards

Manage the Accounts Payable and Payroll functions as well as the tax reporting and payment process with a reliable third-party tax preparer.

Be the internal expert on GAAP, and drive best practices across the company related to financial reporting and internal controls

Own external reporting for investors, including presentations to the Board of Directors as needed

Manage the relationship with external auditors and lead and timely complete the Bank's annual external audit

Partner with the CFO to support strategic initiatives

Design and implement policies and procedures to ensure proper internal controls, compliance, and process improvements cross functionally

What We Are Looking For:

15+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with several years in leadership as a Controller of a small to medium-sized financial institution

Strong working knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting

Solid business judgment and ability to communicate effectively across levels of the company

Strong track record of successfully motivating, developing, and helping people reach their full potential

Experience with integration or M&A preferred

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. CPA required

Strong analytical skills capable of solving problems quickly

Advanced Excel and data analysis skills

Hands-on professional who excels at both strategy and execution

Knowledge of core Banking systems (preferably Fiserv), Quickbooks and other financial software systems is ideal
