Delaware Military Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and committed individual to serve as the Head Varsity Boys Volleyball Coach. The coach will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the boys volleyball program, including the development of student-athletes, game and practice planning, supervising assistant coaches, and maintaining program compliance with school and athletic league policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and conduct all practices, conditioning sessions, and games for the varsity boys volleyball team.
Teach fundamental skills, strategy, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Develop and promote a positive team culture that emphasizes character, accountability, and respect.
Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and junior varsity coaching staff.
Coordinate with the athletic director on scheduling games, transportation, and equipment needs.
Monitor academic performance and eligibility of student-athletes.
Foster positive relationships with players, parents, school staff, and the broader community.
Ensure safety and proper supervision during all team-related activities.
Maintain inventory and care of equipment and uniforms.
Adhere to all school district, league, and state athletic association rules and regulations.
Represent the school and team in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Prior coaching experience, preferably at the high school or club level
Strong knowledge of boys volleyball rules, strategies, and player development
Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and communicate with student-athletes
Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree
Experience coaching at the varsity high school level or higher
Teaching certification (if applicable to school employment)
